Data collection
ScreenRivet does not collect or transmit personal data to Apex Strategies through the application.
The current ScreenRivet application contains no analytics, advertising SDK, tracking technology, telemetry service, ScreenRivet backend, or automatic cloud upload.
Local content
The following content may be created and stored locally:
- Screenshots and screen recordings
- Recent Capture thumbnails
- Manual and Smart Rivet Sessions
- Instructions, captions, and Notes
- Annotations and click markers
- Exported guides
This content remains on the Mac unless you deliberately save, copy, move, or share it.
Screen Recording
Screen Recording permission is used to capture selected displays, windows, and regions. ScreenRivet excludes its own application windows where practical. Captures remain local.
Microphone and System Audio
Microphone access is used only when you enable Microphone recording. System Audio is captured only during an active recording configured to include it. Audio is written to your local recording and is not transmitted to Apex Strategies.
Smart Rivet and Input Monitoring
Input Monitoring is requested only after you explicitly start Smart Rivet. During an active session, Smart Rivet observes physical left-mouse clicks to create guide steps and position click markers.
Pause and Stop disable observation. ScreenRivet does not observe keyboard events through Smart Rivet, record or store typed text, or use Smart Rivet to control another application.
Accessibility
Accessibility permission is optional. When enabled, ScreenRivet may read safe control names, roles, or labels to improve generated instruction names. This access is read-only. ScreenRivet does not click, type, or automate another application, and secure-field values are excluded. Smart Rivet works without Accessibility permission.
File access
ScreenRivet accesses files or folders selected through macOS file dialogs. Security-scoped access is used to save exports to destinations you select. ScreenRivet does not scan unrelated folders.
Clipboard
ScreenRivet may write a screenshot or guide representation to the clipboard when you select Copy. It does not inspect or upload previous clipboard contents.
Network and website hosting
The current ScreenRivet application does not include a ScreenRivet networking or cloud-upload feature.
This public website is hosted by Vercel. Standard request data may be processed by the hosting provider for delivery, reliability, and security. Website hosting is separate from the ScreenRivet application and does not give the application a cloud service. The ScreenRivet pages add no analytics, tracking pixels, email capture, or advertising technology.
Data retention
- Working sessions remain local until you delete them.
- Recent Captures follow your selected retention setting.
- Exports remain wherever you saved them.
- Recordings remain wherever you saved them.
- Deleting the app may not delete files exported elsewhere.
Data deletion
Delete Rivet Sessions from the Sessions browser. Clear Recent Captures inside ScreenRivet. Delete exported guides, screenshots, and recordings through Finder. You may also remove ScreenRivet from the Mac like another macOS application.
Children
ScreenRivet is a general-purpose productivity application and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when ScreenRivet features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy changes.
